Vinted Users Voice Frustration Regarding Sizing Updates
Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments failing to inform every member regarding the update.
Online Platforms Backlash
Countless users and merchants are posting online claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.
The platform stated the revised method more closely matches other platforms.
They have suggested members to review their products and adjust the sizing manually when needed, resulting in member annoyance.
Size Classification Changes
Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
Member Stories
One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".
"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.
"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said.
Necessary Adjustments
A different user, from Derby, explained she became annoyed by the change as she had to manually change the sizes on "every single listing".
"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she explained.
Marketplace Information
The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.
It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This isn't the first time that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options after backlash from users.
